Thanks for sticking with us through a bit of turbulence there, sorry about that!
As always this newsletter highlighting local events and supporting the Travis County Libertarian Party can be found at http://austinliberator.com and will remain a source for local news about LP happenings, and a repository for links and events that are meaningful to libertarians in Austin and surrounding communities.
In case you missed it:
Kenneth Feagins III, chair of LP Collin Co. wrote a great OpEd published in the statesman recently about HB4309 and the fight for fairness in ballot access for 3rd parties.
"Since the current filing fee structure was enacted, third-party participation on Texas ballots has plummeted by more than 70%. Libertarians and Green Party members fielded a total of 29 candidates in Texas races last year, down from 101 in 2018. In some races, voters are left with a single candidate they can choose — a ballot dressed up as democracy, but hollow underneath."

Where: Casa Chapala Mexican Cuisine & Tequila Bar
When: 7pm to 9pm, Monday June 9th (& the 2nd Monday of each month)
What: Join Austin-area Libertarians for a recap of the recent legislative session. Was freedom and liberty advanced or regressed? We will also have an Executive Committee meeting at the start of the meeting, open to the public

Where: Cover 3 Round Rock 2800 N Interstate Hwy 35 #200, Round Rock, TX 78681
What: This month we will have our quarterly business meeting as well as guest speaker Nan Tolson from Texas Conservatives Concerned about the Death Penalty. She will be there to talk about their organization, why we should support abolishing the death penalty, and how to talk to people about it. Come join us!!
(Editor's note, Nan Tolson has confirmed she will be speaking with LP Travis at their July 14th meeting as well!)
