Job Requirements:
* Minimum of 4 years of directly relevant testing and debug experience
* Profound competency with all aspects of PC systems hardware and/or
networking infrastructure components
* Competent with bus and network analyzers, test tools, operating system
configuration and debuggers
* Demonstrated ability to learn new topics rapidly and without
assistance from others
* Interface with customers and other team members in a professional
manner
* Solid English language written and verbal communication skills
* Knowledge of installation, internals and driver configuration for at
least four of the following operating systems: NT4, W2K, .NET Server,
NetWare 5.1, NetWare 6.0 and common Linux 2.4-based kernel
distributions (RedHat, SuSE, Mandrake, TurboLinux, UnitedLinux, etc.)
Preferred Experience:
* PCI/PCI-X adapter test and debug
* 10/100/1000 mbit ethernet networking, TCP/IP, IGMP, etc.
* Infiniband, SCSI, Fibre Channel, RAID and IDE storage adapter test /
debug
* In depth system architecture, CPU, memory and chipset knowledge
* Production software development experience would be given extra
consideration, but is not a requirement for this position.
Job Description:
* Track daily test operations on assigned projects
* Prioritize work items and assign specific tasks to Test Technicians
* Develop and document test plans from product specification documents
* Develop test cases from product test plans
* Develop test scripts for product test cases where appropriate
* Assist Test Technicians in fault isolation and verify results found
* Consult vendor websites for latest BIOS, drivers, documentation,
supported features information, etc.
* Review documented test case failures and determine level of severity
* Document and follow up on issues in a problem tracking system
* Initiate new testing ideas and methods, develop/specify new test tools
* Study new technology trends and train other test engineers and test
technicians
