Skills: Must have practical experience with the following
disciplines:
modern high-speed and low-power circuit design techniques
circuit design issues in 90 nm and smaller nodes
design capture, layout, circuit simulation, static timing
and parasitic extraction tools
Practical experience in the following areas is highly
desirable:
PLL and mixed-circuit design
High speed custom memory design
Design of full custom datapath elements, including
multiplexers, register files, adders, multipliers and other
tree-based structures
Structured custom physical design techniques, including
manual and automatic tiling of datapath elements for optimum
performance and power dissipation
Advanced techniques in low-power design, including low power
circuit families, low Vdd circuit design, leakage
suppression, substrate bias control and control of
subthreshold effects
physical design using automated place-and-route / DRC / LVS
/ ERC flows
balanced low-skew clock
BSEE required; MSEE preferred
Scope: Experienced circuit design to do circuit design for embedded
DSP core development. Will help direct activities of more
junior circuit designers. Will work with processor
architects and other circuit designers to design, simulate
and implement circuits for both structured-custom and
full-custom blocks in an embedded DSP core in advanced deep
submicron low power technology nodes.
