Thanks,

There are some great enchiladas in town. You're going to get a variety
of answers.
My favorite is the Enchiladas Banderas at Manuel's. It's served with
three sauces, and your choice of fillings; I pick pork, which is somewhat
unusual for Austin.

Hi Linda,
What constitutes San Antonio style cheese enchaladas? I know there
are loads of restaurants east of the I-35....my favorite is Nuevo Leon.
I like Enchaladas Verdes best personally. Anybody here remember
Carmen's La Tapatia? Great for cultural education and decent food as
well. Gone but not forgotten. I have also noticed a huge collection of
what appear to be very authentic Mexican restaurants around south 1st,
south of Oltorf....and there's always El Gallo del Sur.

There is no connection between Antonio's in Wells Branch and
Casa Daniel on Jollyville.
Antonio's started out in a house on far North Lamar that was converted
to a restaurant. I don't remember exactly when the house burned to
the ground. I do remember eating there as recently as 1983. After
the North Lamar location burned down, Antonio's re-opened in the
present Wells Branch Location.
Casa Daniel came into being around 1977 - long after Antonio's had
become a landmark.

I didn't know Casa Daniel went belly-up. It is a bit off of
the beaten path for me now that I live at Lake Bastrop rather
than in Pflugerville. Since Antonio's opened a second eatery in
the old Casa Daniel location, I can see where the confusion comes
from. I liked Casa Daniel.
