My wife went and will not go back. Over priced and small portions. I
have not heard anything good about the place. They may be the next to
go broke in that location.

I made the mistake of going there this weekend. What a sell-out. Grilled
Quail salad and Trout? WTF? Gimme my wood benches and take your cloth
napkins and shove them up your yuppie asses. What a bunch of stuck-up
people were there. UGH. And you know those shirts that say "You can smell
our pits from miles away"? They don't dare display those at the Salt Lick
360 (Salt Lick: Yuppie). I was really disgusted. A friend told me she was
speaking to the people at the Driftwood place and there was a move to make
that one more upscale too. What are they thinking?? If I want California, I
will go to one of the other 500 yuppie resturants. What a sad day.
What's distressing about quail eggs? A friend of mine keeps quail, they're
just chickens only much smaller. Takes quite a few quail eggs to make
breakfast, however, which is why I opted for ducks instead :)
I walked in, and walked right back out. I didn't get a whiff of smoke
while I was there. What are they thinking?

Well I found out that they bring the food in from the driftwood location -
or the BBQ at least - it didn't taste fresh like when you actually drive
out there. I can't speak for the rest of the food, but even if I wasn't
expecting Salt Lick BBQ, I wouldn't go back there - it was mediocre at
best. There so many places which are better in town. What happened there is
the same thing that happened when they tried to go yuppie with El Arroyo -
the original is great - the Bee Caves location sucks - food and service.
I'd say pass up the Salt Lick in general.

Then why would you go to a BBQ resturant?
