When I was at Bergstrom I though Mr. Gatti's was the worst pizza EVER. Any
reason they are still around?

Because people like the fact that their logo looks like the Sesame
Street street sign? (At least, I always thought it did.)

Actually, the reason why Gatti's pizza is so weird and so disliked, I
think, is that they use provolone cheese, instead of mozzarella as God
intended. But some people like provolone on their pizza.

Also, they have a buffet, which is probably 90% of the reason they
still exist.

Their pizza is always cold whenever I order. The quality of their pizza is
no better than that cold crap they serve on their buffet line. Since we're
ranting about this, I'm wondering how Burger King is still around. Every
single Burger King in Texas have the same low quality crap. Everytime I've
ordered their burger, it's always cold. Can't they leave it in their
microwave for 30 more seconds? It's not just one Burger King, but it seems
that the whole BK in the district has the same low quality crap. They put
in 3 small pieces of shredded lettuce, then add some really thick ass onions
in large chunks, and top it off with end parts of tomatos.

I agree that the buffet is PROBABLY the reason they are around. But
IMHO the reason that the pizza sucks is not the cheese, but their
crust and HORRID (maybe putrid) sauce. Just bad stuff.

Troll Alert.

I worked at BK for 2+ years, (and Swensens, and Big 5, and Drug Barn and I twas
the Eat 'n Park Salad Bar Guy), and lets see.. BK doesn't use shredded lettuce,
so... you loose.

Come back again when you get think clearly.

Only that people can't eradicate the jingle from their mental jukeboxes:
"Mr. Gatti is the answer to a pizza-lover's prayer." There's some sort of
long-term brain rewiring going on there.

The one that sticks in my head is the "Call 459-2222 and have a Mister
Gatti's pizza delivered" one.

Speaking of jingles you can't eradicate from your brain, is Katz's
still playing any of those annoyingly catchy radio ads they used to
play? I still can't get that out of my head...

When you're out on the town and there's no food around, remember, Katz's
never closes?

I never said that el mercado was the best mexican in town.
It's just that we find the one on Burnet road has
consistently tasty fish tacos and enchiladas. And we've eaten
in Mex places that were TRUELY bad. Like Serranos -- or at least
the one on Anderson. YUCK!!

until soon, Hope

Actually, the cheesecake they serve is pretty good (not sure if they
make it) and so is the reuben. But it *is* overpriced, and I've had
some pretty bad service there too.

Way shitty service, but if I close my eyes and ears while eating the chopped
liver, I can pretend I'm at Second Avenue Deli in NYC... which, BTW, serves
the best cheesecake in the world, and it's not even made with cream cheese,
it's made with tofu! (It's a real deli for chrissakes...Oy!) Oh, and I
noticed that Borders carries the 2nd Ave Deli cookbook, too...

I'm beginning to think Karl really *is* schitzo and this is not a case
of his daughter unit playing with his computer, again, as he's claimed
in the past.

I think the only reason we ever go there anymore, is when we are
jonesing for desert late and night. Thier Brownie Boat is a chocolate
