Heard about Elixir, but not sure how to translate your Ruby skills to Elixir?  You'll see side-by-side examples of Ruby and Elixir code, libraries, commands, books, screencasts, and community sites to help you quickly translate between the two languages.  You'll also learn the caveats where the translation isn't exact and how to help yourself switch from object oriented to functional thinking.  Finally, you'll see where those differences allow you to write more concurrent code using fewer resources in Elixir.

Luke Imhoff is a Senior Software Engineer at Rapid7 in Austin.  He works on Metasploit, a computer security project that provides information about security vulnerabilities and aids in penetration testing, written in Ruby, but he's leading an effort to transition some of the project to Elixir.  In his sparetime he works on intellij-elixir, a plugin for Jetbrains IDEs, like Rubymine, to bring his tools of choice to Elixir.
