Cafe Meetup 3/5: General discussion

A big welcome to those of you who signed up from last Sunday's mixer with Scott Alexander!

We normally have a meetup at the Central Market Cafe on Saturdays, with an activity/discussion at 2:30pm and use the hour before that to gather.  But this week, most of the group will be gone at VibeCamp, and, for my part, I'll be at a tournament.

Still, you should feel free to meet up with your fellow LW/SSC/ACX amigos. For those of you who want to hang out, just get set up at the cafe, and send an email to this list saying where you are. If you can, make a sign to help others find you.

You're also welcome to reply to this list to say you're coming (though it's not necessary) so others know they won't be lonely when they get there!

The meetup is at Central Market, 4001 N. Lamar, in the cafe area. Look for the LW and SSC signs. People start arriving at 1:30 pm, and the main activity will begin at 2:30 pm. In light of the recent developments about Covid cases in Austin please follow store guidance on masks. Also, stay home if you suspect you may have Covid.

It was a pleasure meeting you, Silas. I introduced myself to you at Sunday's mixer. I was one of the few gray-hairs in the crowd. I appreciated your warm and open welcome.

You say that Scott Alexander was there. Was he the gentleman who introduced himself while we were talking? He said something somewhat self-effacing, leading me to think he wasn't the Scott Alexander, but maybe I was wrong--yet another of my uncritical inferences. 

In any event, thanks again; I'm looking forward to the next mixer.
