Regular events!

Welcome to the list, everyone who came to the Scott Aaronson welcome party or recently joined the list! 

There's a coffeeshop meetup at Quack's Bakery ( 411 E 43rd St ) every week at 1:30pm on Saturdays, that typically runs until 4:30pm (but feel free to show up late or leave early). Typical attendance ranges from four to eight, and people talk about whatever's on their mind; what books they've been reading recently, interesting things they've come across on the internet, and so on.

Pradeep has been running some Tuesday night group dinners, planned for the first and third Tuesdays. It sounds like Julia might also be interested in hosting some of these; if you're interested, please volunteer!

In the past we've done game nights; it looks like Bryan Hill might be reviving those (as mentioned in another email thread).

Puzzled Pint is a trivia event on the second Tuesday of the month that several people typically go to. (Pradeep, James, or Alex are the people to talk to for more info.)

There's also rock climbing, which I don't think is on a regular schedule but still happens frequently.

We've also done movie nights, and will go see movies in theaters as a group when the opportunity presents itself. (I think the last one we saw this way was Ex Machina, but Akira was probably the best attended one.)

We do parties like this one at a frequency somewhere between one and four times a year; the next one will probably be a Winter Solstice celebration in late December.
