For this week's discussion, let's talk about concepts that we've found useful. These can be things learned from LessWrong or related sources, or from elsewhere, or perhaps something you've come up with yourself that you'd like to share.
A great thing about having a common vocabulary of concepts is that we can discuss things in depth without having to retread old ground. Some concepts which have been mentioned in the past include "
Nash equilibrium", "
superstimulus", and "
motte-and-bailey". What would you like to add?
I will write up a list of the concepts discussed, so we have something to refer back to later.
Bonus question: Can you think of any bad, anti-useful concepts? That is, are there concepts that are in some sense misleading or unhelpful? What can we do to be on guard against them?
