It occurred to me a while back that a vehicle as high tech as the GT-R should do its own trash talking in the paddock, thus getting legitimate use for the boy racer Bose stereo [1]. Some playlist items are a given, e.g. Simply the Best (Tina Turner) or Nothing Compares To You (Sinèad O'Connor) but others are more subtle.

I kick off slowly with House of the Rising Sun (The Animals) and cool it down after Tina with a bit of fun with Turning Japanese (The Vapors).

Other themes include shock and awe, e.g. Carmina Burana: Fortuna Imperatrix Mundi: O, Fortuna! (London Philharmonic / Carl Orff) and the inevitability of progress, e.g. Times They Are A' Changin' (Runrig / Bob Dylan)

as well as the following sequence of resignation and acceptance:

Things That Are (Runrig)
Sit Down (James)
Drive My Car (The Beatles)
Common People (Blur)

I need a song that says Porsche, and not the rap number from Nelly :) Something more like Mercedes-Benz (Janis Joplin). Any thoughts?

Cheers
Dave

[1] my ex was delighted that her $31k VW Passat CC VR6 came with an audio option ABOVE Bose .... to wit, a 14 speaker setup from DynAudio. And yes, it puts the GT-R's stereo system to shame. In usability as well as sound quality and sheer grunt. In the divorce, she asked for the VW and enough money to get through grad school. If you think VW means cheap and cool, you need to see one of these CLS knock-offs close up.
