guys,

Anyone available to help Mike out? if yes, feel free to coordinate directly with him.

the shoot is Monday @11 at the stadium, and he'd like pick up the set @ 8am. he'll provide transport to-from brush square park.

sounds like fun; unfortunately, i have to work.

Hi,

I'm a producer for the Longhorn network and we are looking at doing a piece about two of the football players that like to compete in chess. I was wondering how I would be able to get my hands on the giant chess set to use for a shoot this Monday? Do you think this might be possible?

I look forward to hearing back from you.

Thanks,

Michael Holmes

Chess Volunteers et. al.,

Several questions and random notes

 * Do I have the right key for under the Pergola still? Seems doubtful, yet possible.
(This would pertain to anyone who would help)

 * Is our Giant Chess set in any kind of photogenic state? It seemed to be getting very worn out.  (I think we want a new one.  I wonder if this has been done already without me knowing it [goes to check Facebook and never comes back ....]

P.S.

((((((Random Notes related mainly only to my own lonesome self:

 * Would I be on TV? I was on TV once when I was a small kid (for some store-brand toaster pastries!) and again in grade school (local public TV, we had made a replica of the Bayeux Tapestry, and I got to do the frame with King Harold and Halley's Comet in it!)

 * I doubt I can actually be ready that early

 * I am not into Football or Longhorns and nor do I have an ESPN subscription currently so I do not watch it unfortunately, but the Scrabble community and NASPA hope to gain more ESPN coverage in the future.  Some sports figures have been noticed playing some Scrabble before but maybe not on a really competitive basis as NASPA does. Stefan Fatsis is the best known Scrabble sports journalist.)))))))

set is at Susanah Dickinson house.  have to observe their hours - 12-5 today.  closed tomorrow.  if he can provide transportation from there under those constraints, he's welcome to borrow the set and then just bring it back to wooldridge.  It might actually help us solve our transportation problem for getting the set over there.

Hey guys,

It looks like we're going to have to postpone this for a later date. I just received an email saying that subjects will be unavailable. I definitely will want to try again in the future, so maybe I'll be able to give a better heads up.

Thank you so much for your willingness to help!

Sincerely,

Michael Holmes

we will have more flexibility in making the set available in the future if you're interested.  Tough this weekend.  Sorry.
