[Austin-FP] Do you guys have any regular meetups?

Hey guys,

I'm a Java programmer, but I'm always up for learning new things about
functional programming (wannabe).
I heard about this group from Chance Coble a year ago, and decided
finally to see what you guys are up to.

Do you guys have regular meetups, or even better, a book club?

Thanks Duke. The regular meetings started getting a little thin last
spring - but I am always happy to pick them up again.

Any interest out there? There are several new books out that could
be reviewed as part of a biweekly book club, speakers that might be
able to give talks, and of course general lunches. If more than a few
people show interest I will start up the meetings again.

Cool - anyone else?

I should also mention I am doing regular F# workshops if anyone is
interested in that. These are for people interested in fundamentals,
and will tend toward data mining / analytics topics. These are 1/2
day workshops, and I give them as soon as I have at least 5 people
signed up. Let me know if there is any interest - or if you would be
more interested in something similar for a different language.

I've got the opposite problem of Sean.   I'm not so available in the evening, but I can make lunches especially in the Round Rock or North Austin area.

I can do either, except lunches on Thursday are iffy (weekly
deployment).

I'm also interested in any F# workshops and would appreciate further
info on that.

I'd enjoy meeting up as well.  Lunchtime is best for me, generally. 

I can say from experience that Chance's F# classes are outstanding.  Not only did I really enjoy the classes, I left with enough of an understanding of the fundamentals of the language to bootstrap myself into becoming a better and better F# developer.  I'm still on that road, thanks to those classes.

Chance, I've got no less than 7 others who have committed to me that they would take the class.  It might be be prudent to overbook a bit, but this reporter thinks the interest is there.
