longtime collaborators laurel atwell(ny) and kirstan clifford(atx) will be working together for one week and will show one week’s worth of improvisational investigations. in the past laurel and kirstan have used improvisation to explore

longtime collaborators laurel atwell(ny) and kirstan clifford(atx) will be working together for one week and will show one week’s worth of improvisational investigations. in the past laurel and kirstan have used improvisation to explore
multiple time dimensions simultaneously and to create altered states of existence.
the week leading up to "laurel and kirstan have a show" will be spent exploring astral projection with the goal of intimacy and the timing within the accessibility of memories versus thoughts.

laurel atwell is a performer, choreographer, qi gong teacher, and small press editor based in brooklyn, new york.
she works with live performance and video to deconstruct the projected personas of self and group dynamics
within society to allow for alternative ways of being. laurel has had the pleasure of working with milka djordjevich,
nikima jagudajev, melanie maar, ursula eagly, kim brandt, luciana achugar, among others, and has ongoing
collaborations with tess dworman, jessica cook, and athena kokoronis. @spooky_action.tif
kirstan clifford is a performer, choreographer, curator and teacher of dance based in austin, texas. her work
explores the permeability that exists when held human emotion and memory are transmitted from one body
to another. kirstan has had the pleasure of working with julie atlas muz, gerda könig, jean-claude lessou,
raw paw, katie mae hebert, the color condition, karen nelson and luciana achugar. kirstan’s most recent
collaborations with the late trisha brown and her dancemaking and critique lab STUDIO SERIES SHOW
have lead her to pursue a msc in dance science from trinity laban conservatoire come the fall of 2018.
