Rosewood Avenue between Navasota Street and Poquito Street provides important east-west connectivity and neighborhood access for people driving, walking, bicycling and accessing bus service in East Austin. The Austin Transportation and Public Works Department has developed a project to address safety and mobility improvements to Rosewood Avenue from Navasota Street to Hargrave Street. Planned changes are described in the map below.       Project Scope Map   Planned Changes New protected bike lane from Navasota Street to Poquito Street. New pedestrian crossings at San Bernard Street, Lawson Lane, Salina Street and Poquito Street. In order to make space for these changes, on-street parking will generally be removed except where specified on the map. On-street parking will be maintained east of San Bernard Street to Angelina Street on the north curb and between Salina Street and Chicon Street on the south curb. On-street parking was analyzed at different times and days of the week to best balance parking utilization with street design changes that provide multimodal connectivity and comfort.   Timeline Implementation is expected to begin in the coming weeks. The street will remain open at all times during construction.
