All,

I just saw this item #74 at Austin City Council on Thu 12/11 that updates the City of Austin's Municipal Maintenance Agreement with TxDOT.

Two examples cited in a city staff memo include:
• All bike lanes, bikeways, shared use paths, and trails are now clearly defined as City responsibility for all State Highways within the City.
• Pedestrian and bike railings are now clearly called out as the City’s responsibility on signalized State Highways (non-controlled access highways like RM 620, RM 2222).

The memo also states, "Since the City is currently performing these maintenance responsibilities, the updated MMA does not result in a financial impact to the City."

I don't have any further info aside from what is stated in the memo and other council meeting backup.
