Hi Guys,

I am trying to figure out where SR31 in QLD ends at the western side.

The last sign I can find in on Mt Glorious Rd at Mt Nebo. Just after the Mt Glorious Rd / Mt Nebo Rd junction. The maps show it going to at least Mt Glorious, but on the ground only TD 9 signs seems to be beyond the RD at the previously mentioned junction.

Anyone traveled the road and know anything about the route?

Ta

I haven't travelled the route but I did ask TMR what the western terminus was after the route was discussed on here last year. They said that the boundary is the Brisbane CC/Moreton Bay Regional Council boundary near Mt Glorious.

I suppose this makes sense from when BCC signposted the first state routes in the 1970s but it doesn't make any sense now, especially since Northbrook Parkway was built and there's now a good quality road all the way to the Brisbane Valley Highway.

I also suggested they extend SR31 to meet NR17 but they only responded with some generic garbage about shielded routes being phased out and they would consider changes as part of that etc.

I’d quite like to know that one myself too.

Just out of curiosity I looked at my 2011 Refidex and it shows SR31 on Northbrook Parkway.

How old is Northbrook Parkway? It appears (on Google Maps) to have been upgraded heavily compared to Mount Glorious Road.

I think it was built in the 1980s.

Looking at the boundaries they seem to be referring to on Ausway, it's actually Brisbane City Council / Esk Shire Council / Pine Rivers Shire Council

Yeah I don't mind mate as long as its referenced :)

Esk, Pine Rivers & Redcliffe were merged to form Moreton Bay Regional Council about 18 months ago.

Many of the councils up here have been merged for some reason.

Close but no cigar, Sam. Esk Shire is now part of Somerset Region.
Pine Rivers Shire, City of Redcliffe and Caboolture Shire merged to
become Moreton Bay Region.

So the former Brisbane/Esk/Pine Rivers tripoint is still a tripoint
(Brisbane/Somerset/Moreton Bay).

I have photos of SR31 .... State Route 31 is one of those Queensland
routes which end "not with a bang, but a whimper" (apologies to T.S.
Eliot!) Westbound, the last mention of SR31 is an RD sign just west of
the Mount Nebo Rd / Mount Glorious Rd intersection:
https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/OecH1jZaT_mtBJClDCDBddMTjNZETYmyPJy0liipFm0?feat=directlink

Eastbound, the first mention is an AD or ID at the same intersection
(I don't think I've ever taken photos from this direction).

Similar nonsense happens all over Queensland, unfortunately. State
Route 21 in Victoria Point and State Route 43 in Wellington Point are
two other examples where a state route is signed as continuing past a
particular intersection but with no conclusive end.

That indeed is the last sign I could find, past that there's several TD 9 trailblazers.

Well these two at least have obvious ends (the end of the road)

I suppose initially SR31 ended at a dead end?

SR27 is a route that ends at a non-obvious point with no 'END' sign...
