I don't get it. Why couldn't they just upgrade the existing Pacific Hwy - New Bridge and Alignment?

The existing Pacific Highway doesn't run from Beresfield to Tomago though?

The New England Highway was quite interesting to see. Never thought that there'd be an interchange with the M1/A43.

This road is hell during holiday periods, and is a major freight route. A freeway-grade road was the only option.

I’m disappointed that despite all the funding to making Pacific Hwy better, the worst parts of the road (Coffs harbour and Hexham) have gone untouched.

The intention of the highway upgrade was to eliminate the single carriageway sections, these 2 sections were always going to be completed last.

Good point, the bypasses have helped a lot of traffic problems and made travelling between Sydney and Brisbane safer
