Northbound on General Holmes Drive at Kyeemagh, there is a remnant Metroad 1 shield on the RD retractable gantry sign near the Cooks River bridge that is only visible in morning peak when the tidal flow is operational. At all other times it is A1.

There was also a remnant Metroad 1 on the Kyeemagh Ave loop ramp onto General Holmes Drive southbound. Not sure if it's still there.

Ditto with a cantilevered AD sign on Pyrmont Bridge Rd pointing to Metroads 1, 4 and 5...

Spotted this yesterday with the Metroad 5 coverplate still on: https://goo.gl/maps/XtBfcNSe7ED2

Looks like they forgot to remove it since it's on a minor road.

Nice remnant - even I didn't know that sign existed :)

There's a Metroad 2 sign at the Epping Road / Pittwater Road intersection in North Ryde. This is only because the coverplate fell off but it's still fun to see

There is also this really weird one on Pyrmont Bridge Road, Pyrmont
Untitled.png

This sign has gotta be REALLY old. Metroad 5 has not run through the city since the M5 east was built in 2001 lmao

This one is really old - all the Metroads are on coverplates over NR1/NR31/NR32. Probably dates to about 1990. There are a few other signs of this vintage at this intersection, including the 'To VICTORIA RD / Glebe' sign in the background og the photo.

Huh that Pacific Hwy one is strange. It has an M1 under that coverplate but it was never uncovered.

The Pyrmont Bridge Road and Epping/Pittwater ones are still uncovered as of the last few weeks.

Also a few months ago I noticed a Metroad 4 sign on Cleveland St approaching the ED still there.

Anyone know of any Metroad 3, 7 or 9 (or even 10!) signs still uncovered to complete the set within the thread?

There's a Metroad 6 uncovered on the M2 eastbound.

Hey all.

This one has still slipped through the cracks.

M6 Logan.

Even after the latest run of sign updates.

The fun thing about geeking in Queensland is there are always remnants to be found. Including this oldie on Drews Road - Metroad 4 and Freeway Green to boot.
The rest of the signs on Drews Road seem to have Metroad 6 still, rather than M6, as well.

The toll sign is correct - there is a toll on the Toowoomba Bypass.

That sign is far too cramped though, there's no separation between the through legend and the exit legend. Yuck.

NSW tolls are not owned by Transurban iirc? Melbourne and QLD are owned by them and they use the blue to show them being "Private" toll roads.

Recently added that MR4 remnant. I'm impressed it has lasted so long, MR4 was changed very early on in the Metroads in QLD

The uncovered Metroad 2 sign at Epping/Pittwater Roads in North Ryde has now been replaced with a new sign

It is funny how the sign approaching the Eastern Distributor westbound on Cleveland Street says 'To Metroad 4' which means this sign was installed before the City West Link was completed but Metroad 1 for the Eastern Distributor has been covered with a cover plate that has the M1 shield on it! https://www.google.com.au/maps/@-33.8926263,151.2179402,3a,21.7y,281.41h,98.4t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sxtt5Hv3vZ9TL80q5vI-XkA!2e0!7i16384!8i8192 I have seen it in person a few months ago but I was too lazy to take a picture of it. The RMS should have covered To Metroad 4 or replaced the sign entirely but instead all they did was cover Metroad 1 with M1.

This is an artefact of how the route numbers were rolled out - the motorways were done early and stuff like this was missed in the cleanup at the end because it wasn't meant to be there anyway.

eg the most decrepit sign on all of Sydney's arterials is this delaminating number on the southbound approach to the same intersection -
but it's still got its To MR4 cover-plated.

Or is it hiding To MR5? dun dun duuunnn...

I looked at the sign and on the older street view images, the cover plates are over To Metroad 4. Right now the sign that you mentioned is in dire need to be replaced as it is peeling badly!

I like how Blue Mtns was a focal point, even here. Blue Mountains is not mentioned again from this point until you enter the M4 tunnel past the Liverpool Road turnoff
