  • "Number of red light cameras rises from 30 to 90, fixed cameras from five to 30
  • Mobile cameras to be used for 600 more hours per year at crash hot spots
  • Trial of point-to-point camera measuring average speed over a distance"

Unsurprisingly a few years later than the other states, it seems like WA will get a heap more speed cameras. The current fixed cameras don't have any signage and only the other day I noticed a new one has been installed on the Kwinana Freeway northbound just before South Street.

Can almost guarantee the point-to-point camera(s) will go on Kwinana Freeway south of Safety Bay Road and/or Forrest Highway and/or Old Coast Road - the first two being the two roads with the highest design standards in the state but both deadly boring at 110km/h.

looks like the trial of point to point will cover all vehicles. in nsw it is only heavy vehicles. will be interesting to see if this changes.

All vehicles in vic too..
Apparently they have an axle counter to determine if its a truck or a car on 110kph roads (with trucks obviously being limited to 100)
