Then and now - Tubbs Hill, Hume Highway

My favourite quiet place on the Hume, VIC side.

There's lots of abandoned highway about the place, but rarer to get a 4 lane section in tact sitting all alone, and its an interesting little section too

1973 - Climbing lanes added, making for 1 mile of 4 lane carriageway

1977 - Planning for duplication from here to Euroa, CRB intends to add new carriageway on the north side of this

1980 - 14.5km duplication is completed from Avenel to here

1984 - 10km duplication on a new alignment further north, from Oxenburys Road to Creightons Road bypassing here altogether.
