Hi Everyone,

On the 3rd of October 2020, I underestimated how much work was going to be needed to upgrade the Expressway website and embarked on re-coding the entire thing from scratch. Initially I was doing this in background of adding new material, but switch to concentrating on only upgrading the site, which has carried on for about 3 years. Initially I had intended to use a Content Management System like Wordpress or MediaWiki, but I found it hard to create the site I wanted this way.

We've now just about reached the end of 2024, and today sees all that work come together and the new site is now live and ready for you to check out, on any device, whether it's a desktop computer, phone or tablet.

There is however still some work to be done. That includes some more coding work on the new site, the addition of a new Bridges section, new Sign Drawings content, replacing all previous drawings, and upgrading the International Photos and Information section, the Towns and Cities section and to capture a few more videos for the traffic signals section. These tasks will happen over the next few months and will not take up anywhere near as much time as the previous work done.

So with the addition of 998 new photos, plus 9 new videos and 11 brochures, I present to you the brand new Expressway site: https://www.expressway.online/

If you come across anything not working on the new site, or there's something that needs correcting, please let me know, thanks! Hope you like the new site!

Hey guys, I appreciate the feedback so far since launching the new website, however I am starting to get some reports of links not working on the site, but the ones being submitted are from the old website structure, not from current URLs.
Before submitting errors, please ensure you've emptied your browser cache, so the new version of the site loads, also don't follow links coming up on search engines, as they will be out of date, and will continue to be so for up to several weeks..
Please also load the site using the https://www.expressway.online/ URL.
Some ISP caching servers have also not detected the changes yet and still serving the old version of the site to some users, which is throwing errors. Please force a full reload of a page if elements are missing or not working, by using the shift key with the refresh command in your browser. You might need to do this several times before the caching server picks up a new version of the site.
The front page of the new site should look similar the screenshot attached, and subsequent pages will also be formatted similarly, the obvious visible item is the menu, if you cannot see a matching menu, then you're looking at the old site.
Speaking of the old site, the new site has some pages linked to the legacy version of the site, before clicking through to any legacy site page, there is a warning in a fluorescent yellow background to indicate the links you're about to access will be from the old site. The old site has been relocated to https://legacy.expressway.online.
When submitting your errors, please include a link to the page you were viewing before getting the error as well.
Thanks for all your support and help.
