Doyalson Link Road or Motorway Link Road? Bonus facepalm

Was driving towards Charlestown from Sydney a few days ago, and noticed that all signage which had previously said 'Doyalson Link Road' was now reading 'Mwy Link Road'.

The exit signage on the F3 still says 'Doyalson Link Road'.

As far as I can tell, the change of name from Motorway Link to Doyalson Link Road was pretty much unannounced. Have they changed it back with the same lack of fanfare?

You can see on GSV a couple of signs (where 2015 imagery is available) that show the road is being referenced as 'Motorway Link Road' towards the Doyalson end.

If you squint, you can just make out that "Mwy Link Road" is the road name listed on the top half on this sign. It shouldn't be - you can probably figure out why when looking on the map.

What I find interesting is you have the Doyalson Link Road and the Newcastle Link Road. Doesn't the name Motorway Link Road create some confusion?
