Hi all,

I had previously uploaded the 1st edition 1934 Sydney Gregory's street directory. For those interested, I've recently acquired a 9th edition 1939* Gregory's which I've scanned and uploaded online. Compared to the previous upload:
  • The resolution is higher;
  • The pages are scanned in a more flat manner;
  • The pages have much less missing in the gutter (the centre of the spread that goes into the spine); and
  • Each map is an individual image as opposed to spreads (two pages together) previously.
* I think it's 1939. There's no actual date or edition number on the street directory; my guess is based on it having the Cronulla railway line (which opened in 1939) and having Beverly Hills still named as Dumbleton (renamed in 1940).

Anything pre-1955 in terms of Australian maps is out of copyright and I'd like to put up all of the pre-1955 Sydney Gregory's. If anyone else has scans or a physical copy they can lend/sell/donate to me, I'll put them up also.

Were the maps meant to link to their corresponding html? There are a few maps along the Parramatta River area with the wrong links. Maps 47, 48, 39, 40, 25 and 26 are linked to their reverse counterparts.

Thanks for pointing that out. It should be fixed now if you refresh it.

Awesome work there.

I have what would be better described as a series of maps (as opposed to a street directory, per se) from I think around the early 1920s, courtesy of a very thoughtful birthday present from my wife a few years ago (must have scored it off ebay for a small fortune)... it's basically a whole heap of suburbs as separate maps, rather than the standard tiled format. I don't know what it was exactly as it has no cover.

I'll see if I can copy / take photos and send them through.
