Here's a video I filmed yesterday, which I thought you might enjoy.

Route taken:

1. Pacific Highway from Warrawee to Wahroonga
2. F3 Freeway from Wahroonga to Jilliby
3. Doyalson Link Road (formerly Motorway Link) from Jilliby to Doyalson
4. Pacific Highway, Doyalson

Any chance making them viewable on mobile devices? Seems that's the only thing I watch YouTube on these days :/

Regards,
Conrad

I enjoyed that. Pacific Hwy is always a nice reminder of how good Perth traffic is.

Nice & subscribed!

Why did you do SR83's as SR83?

I also did a video 2 weeks ago from Wahroonga to Gosford but haven't
uploaded yet :(

I assume its due to the font issues in TrasiCAD

Great video. Was amazed by the queue at the end of the link road.

Here's a video of the freeway continuing from Doyalson Link Road going up to Newcastle Link Road as well as a bit of rather poor navigation via Newcastle Link Road and SR123, to get to the Oak Factory at Hexham (a rather disappointing attraction, I must say...)

Enjoyed watching this. The rough surface on the Sydney-Newcastle Fwy is really highlighted with this video.

Good choice of tunes too.

Nice vid - it was good to see Newcastle Link Rd & SR123 in particular as I haven't driven them for some time.

You got your route markers wrong along Newcastle Road though - SR133 goes along Longworth Ave.

@ 9:14 - I really hate that sign, the blue patch amongst a heap of green space looks really shit. Its a lot easier on the eye as a supplementary plate below, as the airport has been done.

Thanks.

I was wondering if Google Maps or the signage was right and ended up using Google Maps (silly, I know).

Also, to be pedantic, the last sign should show an NR15/NR1 duplex, not an NH15 shield.

Or maybe it should show just an NR1 shield; I mean is there any actual duplex signage? most of it seems to be just erroneous NH1 shields

NHR15 ends at John Renshaw Drive, so it should just be NR1. RTA/RMS seems to have struggled with this concept ever since NHR1 was re-routed in 1989 so we can cut mubd some slack too :p

I don't think there was ever any duplex signage, just a mixture of correct NR1 shields and incorrect NHR1 or NHR15 shields

OK. Gets worse then:

John Renshaw Drive or Weakley's Drive?

If it's the former, then the New England Highway is numberless between the two; if it's the latter than it's strictly NR15 between the two and NH15 West of Weakley's Drive.

John Renshaw Drive is definitely the terminus. It's not part of the (defunct) National Highway network between Weakleys and JRD but for route numbering purposes it doesn't need to be a gazetted NH to be signed as a National Highway Route. Other examples include:

- former NHR8 and NHR31 into Melbourne (National Highway status terminated near the metro boundary)

- NHR94 in Perth from Midland to the Causeway
- NHR1 in Hobart along the southern part of Brooker Highway

The DMR in NSW didn't go with the more sensible 'consistent signage' option with NHR1 ending at Berowra - and not being signed between Swansea and Sandgate prior to the F3 being built - and NHR31 ending at The Cross Roads.

Weakleys Drive is the road that is strictly numberless and is mostly signed that way now.

Great stuff again. Enjoyed your video. Is the traffic along the
Pacific Hwy at the start normal for the middle of the day?

Also - around 8:06, just north of the Gosford exit, Im curious about
the mast/TV tower thingy on the left hand side of the road, it looked
a bit more substantial than your standard Telco Tower - anyone know
what it is?

Cheers,
Michael

Oh I don't like those either :p Especially the Melbourne ones and moreso for how long they continued to exist after becoming functionally and logically obsolete.

That looks to me to be about average to just above average congestion for the PM school zone period...
