Hi Guys,

I just got off the phone with John Graham who is based in Ballina, and he's said that all the signs westbound on Bruxner Hwy between Ballina and Alphadale are now alphanumeric / uncovered, and showing B60.

So far he's only travelled westbound, and will confirm if eastbound has been done as well.

Beyond Alphadale the coverplates remain in place. Alphadale is a local government boundary, which leads us to believe that the coverplate fairies may be contracted to the local council.

Trust Alphadale to change to alphas earlier than the rest ;)

I am not sure if John will be getting any photos today, sounds like he has a lot on his plate, but it would be good to see if there are some.

LOL I Know. I went on there within minutes of sending that message to the group and it was already altered.

I wonder if the new alphanumeric route at Bangalow is now uncovered too?

Hi Guys, just back from Lismore and there's B60 signs from the turnoff to Wollongbar TAFE to the Teven interchange....still showing 44 on the signs at the Teven ineterchange and the signs showing the Bruxner t/o on the Pacific.
I've got to go back up to Lismore again(!!), so I'll take the camera and try to get some pics.

Here you go...some pics from today (westbound)....didn't have time to get all of the signs on the way home as I was running out of time...will be going up that way again on Saturday and get the pics from the Kays Lane interchange.
Enjoy
BTW, Sam, you can put these pics up on Ozroads too :)

Excellent pix John!

Definitely prefer the route number and road name patch on the same line with alphanumeric RD signs.

It's interesting the Pacific Hwy is like other control cities on the RD instead of in all caps like other signs that show distances to a junction.

The only dud designs is the Sneaths Rd diagrammatic, which wastes space on the left but squashes up things on the right, and also the RD in 1715, there's probably room for not abbreviating the name of the route.

Brilliant work mate - thanks!

A couple of things I noticed:

- that lane allocation diagrammatic AD sign is not at all clear, the Lismore direction arrow should probably curve upwards.

- the focal point 'Pacific Hwy' should be in all caps

- the last RD sign you posted has B60 on a sticker - wonder what is underneath? Seems strange.

Thanks for the pics John, good to see that something is happening.

On another note, that’s the first time I’ve actually seen the Alstonville Bypass on the ground. Looking old already :-O
