Blaxland & Balaclava Road Upgrade - scope now changed

It's now cofunded by the Federal Government, but the scope has changed wildly.

Here's the 2017 proposal: it was to widen Blaxland Road and provide a second right turn lane on to Balaclava Road north-east bound.

The latest proposal: widen Balaclava Road eastbound to provide two right turn lanes to Blaxland Road northbound. No additional right turn lane for Blaxland Road into Balaclava Road. They're only tweaking the traffic light phasing for the right turn into Balaclava Road.

For the $9m that this upgrade is worth, it may as well not achieve anything.

Bit of a wasted effort tbh. If they cut off the entrance to Ball Ave they could easily make two lanes straight with a dedicated right-turn lane into Balaclava

Agreed. But the excuse is that the "ground isn't level". :( 

Total waste of $9m.
