FAIL!

Brad - perhaps it is worth submitting your photo to the Courier Mail and you might get some publicity? :)

The Carins sign is almost right - the spacing is a bit off. Personally I HATE that roundabout style though I do think it is covered by the MUTCD. Also of note is the symbol for a swimming beach with a net to keep out all the nasty things in the water that try and kill northern QLDers.

Hey Sam,

You are right, the style of roundabout is in the QLD MUTCD. I have all the official roundabout diagrams from Trasicad here in WMF format, ready to go into signs :)

Well, the sign designers must have been from Brisbane City Council -
*shrug* it was their standard inclusion stuff up with every
installation.

They replaced it? Wouldn't a coverplate be significantly cheaper?

Hmmm...so they replaced that sign because of a spelling mistake but they refused to fix the two signs on Tin Can Bay Road that are missing the SR15 shield?

Don't be so sure.
Check out the comments on the article.  The first one reads:

Muppets what else wood you expect lol

Yep - can't even tell the diff between "would" and "wood"...
