Saw this on the way to the airport this morning.

Excellent cover plate job :) Not bad signage compared to some of the others around in QLD.

So will this be the shortest M route in Australia?

M1 (Tugun Bypass) in NSW: 3.4 km
M4 (Port of Brisbane Mwy) in QLD: 6 km

Another couple of shots, courtesy of Andrew Birchall who tipped me off about M4 a week or two ago:

They both seem to be fairly new signs too...

The 2nd one is about 4-5 years old - I recall Trent having a big rant when it got installed as it really is a terribly confusing sign. It was worse before the e-toll came in and a couple of coverplates were installed.

The one in the distance of that sign looks even worse

Is the Western Distributor/Anzac Bridge going to be signposted as M4?

I wonder what will happen to the remaining part of the Logan Motorway
- will that get M6?

Cheers,
Michael

Officially there are no plans to change the leftover bits of Metroads 2, 5 or 6. Moronic, I know...

If I had to predict the future, I would say that Metroad 6 will become M6 at some point.

Pretty sure it's A4, based on the uncovered signs during CCT construction and the RMS map:

Pretty confusing signs for those who have troubles even reading the
simple ones. I'd rather stick an overhead gantry.
