Hi all,

On the way back from Banana to Brisbane recently, I drove via Theodore and across to Eidsvold and then through Gayndah and Gympie.

I was most surprised half way between Eidsvold and Theodore, as soon as I entered the North Burnett Regional Council area, that the road was signposted as State Route 73. Shame that there was no sign of it (excuse the pun) anywhere in Eidsvold itself when it joined the Burnett Highway.

Also note the bizarre 60 sign as you enter Eidsvold, is this a new standard or someone using an artistic licence? J

Cheers,

Michael

Awesome! Been wanting to drive that route for years.
The North Burnett border must coincide with the TMR region boundary - not really surprised...
Those 60km/h signs are certainly unusual. Get your attention I suppose?

They seem to introduce all sorts of new signage formats up here and make completely unique designs for different locations, but they always manage to top themselves in making it look ridiculous. Goes to show how well they follow standards, most of the time they'll just install anything. I don't think I've ever seen the road painted like that with a speed limit though.

I wouldn't bet on seeing more of these signs though. My guess is they'll make something even worse and claim its apart of a new statewide system of signage or something like that.

Great pix MG.

Those speed limit signs are very kiwi.

The other signs are mostly inoffensive too.

Loved the bridge shot
