The Trip Information Signs on Monash Freeway in both ways is gone and it taken on Google Maps in April 2022. I hope that Compusign has a new Trip Information Signs for outbound prior to Burke Road exit and for inbound at Toorak Road exit.

That’s a bit sad. I remember visiting Melbourne from Sydney in the late 90s and seeing these, and was blown away by them and wishing we had something like that in Sydney.

I know it's gone... but the company Compusign will have a new Trip Information Signs in both directions on the Monash Freeway between Toorak Road and Burke Road.

The one before the Wellington Rd exit is still there too, even though it's duplicated by the new overhead signs. https://goo.gl/maps/YszY57xSHbxMWKmG7

The Trip Information Signs along Monash Freeway is still gone as of May 2022 and we want to bring it back. Here are road/suburb destination and normal minutes:

Inbound (at Toorak Road exit in Malvern near streetlights):
Destination 4: "Melbourne Airport" (G6-V1-2) | 26 minutes
Destination 3: "Pascoe Vale Road" (G6-V2-2) | 17 minutes
Destination 2: "Footscray Road" (G6-V2-2) | 10 minutes
Destination 1: "Kings Way" (G6-V2-2) | 7 minutes

Outbound (prior to Burke Road exit in Glen Iris next to overhead lane signs):
Destination 4: "S Gipps Freeway" (G6-V2-2) | 15 minutes
Destination 3: "EastLink" (G6-V2-2) | 11 minutes
Destination 2: "Wellington Road" (G6-V2-2) | 9 minutes
Destination 1: "Warrigal Road" (G6-V2-2) | 4 minutes

It allows us motorists can plan your journey and are updated every minute by data source "Streams".

It has traffic colors: "Light", "Medium" and "Heavy".

If we can enquire signage from Compusign, a link can be found here and hopefully, the Trip Information Signs will be there.

If they are going to replace them, they're most likely going to be the multi-coloured overhead signs seen earlier in this thread (and have been installed over other freeways more recently like the Tullamarine) rather than the old-school ones that used to sit on the roadside. That way VicRoads/Transport Victoria can alternate the freeway times with other advisory information (roadworks etc) when they need to.

I think the original VMS was installed in 2009 between Glenferrie Road and Warrigal Road do not have VMS travel times and is instead using Trip Information Signs between Toorak Road and Burke Road (which was missing as of May 2022, and we want to bring it back by company Compusign) to provide real-time information.

Also, the VMS travel time won't display the third flame when upcoming roadworks/events, community messages, incidents and freeway closure information is displayed because it only has 2 flames, so it means the existing Trip Information Signs on Monash Freeway inbound between Jacksons Road and Huntingdale Road are here to stay.
