Exit numbers have been added to the Centenary Highway south of the Logan Motorway interchange.

Springfield Lakes Boulevarde is Exit 31, and the Springfield-Greenbank Arterial Road is Exit 32.

Hi,

I wonder what the origin of measurement is. Just doing a quick
distance accumulative in Google, it is 23.7km from the Springfield
Lakes Boul/Cent Hwy junction up to the Toowong Roundabout (Mt Coot-tha
Rd). So, from there it is only approx 7km to the "start point" of the
M5.

From the Toowong Roundabout, it is 5km to the City (using Milton Rd &
the convoluted Petrie Tce zig zag), 4km to the proposed junction with
Hale St (M3) (ie following Northern Link tunnel) and 18km following
the proposed Western Bypass/Trouts Rd corridor up to Gympie Arterial
Rd at Bald Hills (ie junction with M3). So nothing quite stacks. The
City option is close but a retarded solution. Unless the Inner City
bypass gets rebranded as M5 and then moving the origin down to the
"M5"/M7 junction at Bowen Hills. That would make 31km. Still, it
stuffs up the M3/A3 corridor unless a duplex is introduced.

Cheers,
Michael

While Yamanto is about 30 km (closer to 20?) km from Springfield I
just remembered Springfield Lakes Blvd is north of the Greenbank Art
exit. So there goes that theory.

I would say the origin is the Bowen Hills complex.

A3 should go up Kelvin Grove Rd, South Pine Rd and Old Northern Rd
IMO, leaving Lutwyche Rd un-numbered and the ICB as M5.

I would then choose a new, lower priority route number for Gympie Rd
and sign all Sunshine Coast traffic via M7 and M1. Gympie Rd's focal
point becomes Chermside and the M7/M1 form a ring road of sorts for a
beefed up business district at Chermside.

Trent.

Hi guys,

I've been advised that the origin point for exit numbering on the M5 is the future junction of Northern Link and the ICB. At this stage, it appears that exit numbers will be as follows:

15 - Seventeen Mile Rocks Road
16 - Dandenong Road/Glen Ross Road
18 - Sumners Road
20 - Ipswich Motorway
22 - Garden/Progress Roads
25 - Logan Motorway
30 - Springfield Parkway
32 - Springfield-Greenbank Arterial
33 - Augusta Parkway/City Point Drive

Hi Sam,

Thanks for that - did you leave off Moggill Road by accident or on
purpose? :-)

Kenmore Bypass will have to be Exit 15A it seems.

I have wondered whether the proposed Western Bypass from Toowong to
Bald Hills shouldve got M5. Or maybe Main Roads would prefer that to
be another M3.

I don't think the exit numbering will happen north of the river at this stage so I wasn't given any exit numbers north of there. Kenmore Bypass would be more like 13 or 14?

Whoops my bad - I read your "Seventeen Mile Rocks Rd" as "Fig Tree
Pocket Rd". :-)

Any news on M7 and M2 exit numbering - it seems the scheme has started
on the M7 from Goodna to Darra. Further to that - seems a shame that
exit numbers will have to be retrospectively added to the Clem Jones
Tunnel as well *sigh*.
