Where would these two pics be
http://mylibrary.wollongong.nsw.gov.au/cgi-bin/spydus.exe/FULL/PIC/BIBENQ/1099211/10988708,6?FMT=IMG
http://mylibrary.wollongong.nsw.gov.au/cgi-bin/spydus.exe/FULL/PIC/BIBENQ/1099211/10988709,7?FMT=IMG

They are the only two pics on the site with the sheild visible that I
haven't seen anywhere else.

They are the same sign, approaching Kanahooka Road exit.

Replaced with (BTW it's less than 300m to the exit gap):

The older one was a direct replacement minus the F6 shield

Not sure why they decided to add the distance to the new sign, especially when its wrong!

Ah yes I remember it :) both the replacements look somewhat odd, but I can't put my finger on what it is.

Lack of a distance and the legend 'EXIT' make the 90s on look weird. The more recent one looks OK, maybe the exit fork is a little short?

I don’t like the exit signs on the F6 in this area. They are so close in proximity to the exits and really should be a standard AD AND be on the left hand side of the road not the right. But they are generally good designs Smile.

The 1990s ones were a bit strange indeed. The Masters Road one southbound always struck me as very odd.

A lot of newer signs have shorter exit forks. After playing with Trasicad this week, I have worked out that the default values are the problem. If you do a custom length on the fork, say 100, it's more in proportion to the rest of the diagram.

Also the newer signs are taller than the older ones.
