It’s about time.

Haven’t spotted it yet in bookstores or other shops yet.

Not yet reflected on their online maps either.

Haven't sighted them in Qld bookshops or Big W, most don't stock the Ausway products nowadays :(

My experience finding street directories at retail stores has been hit and miss.  Best bet these days is to purchase them online.

I don't think Big W or K Mart stock street directories at all anymore.  QBD used to be a reliable source too, though I'm not sure what their stock is like these days.

The larger Dymocks stores (like the Sydney or Melbourne CBD ones) usually have a decent range, including Ausway.

I purchased the latest Sydway at the Sydney George St Dymocks a few weeks ago.

Does anyone know what the circulation for an edition of Melways is these days, and how that compares with the biggest years historically?  Must have fallen away A LOT!

Regards

Dymocks Brisbane are still stocking 2014 Melway and Sydway, Chermside had none, both stores not having any Brisway. QBD have recently received a large supply of edition 7 Brisway for I think was $11 or $15

The 2014 Edition is $10.95 at QBD. As at today, they still have plenty of them at the Robina bookstore.

But they had no idea when or if they will get the 8th Edition.

They have these at the Morayfield outlet as well. Two large stacks of them.

Big W's pretty shoddy with their street directories up here; the Morayfield and Kawana stores generally only stock the Concise Motoring Atlas and VERY RARELY, the latest Brisbane refidex. QBD has the Brisbane refidex as well as the Sydney and Melbourne ones (and a few of the smaller country-themed directories), but not much else. Online is definitely the way to go now, although I haven't purchased a new Brisbane one since I bought the 2014 refidex. Might grab a 2016 if I find one for cheap. More into buying the older ones now.

Oh, and not a single Ausway directory to be seen other than that 2014 one.

Looks the death of Sydway and Brisway is imminent. Melway can probably go on for a few years yet.

The Ausway company can probably survive on providing custom mapping services to the government and business (similar to Nearmap), but their street directories are all but gone from retailers shelves. The only place I can find a 2016 Sydway is on the official Ausway website.

I picked up a 2016 Sydway at Dymocks Sydney CBD store a few weeks ago - they had a few on the shelf.  No Brisways or Melways.

I've been there on other occasions and found none.  Plenty of UBD/Gregorys though, which is expected given Sydney's traditionally been a UBD/Gregorys dominated market.

Last Melway I bought (last year) I got online.

Initially we'll probably see production reduce to every 3-4 years, but there will come a tipping point I reckon - significantly reduced market demand combined with increased production costs will result in them being uneconomic to sell and produce

The new Sydway I have found is very rare to find. In previous years, at the very least Big W stocked it, but not so this time around. The only places I have seen them is in a small handful of servos.

I'd say their print run is nowhere near what it used to be
