$450 million Urban Road Congestion Program (2019 election promise)

Not sure if anyone in the world still remembers back to the prehistoric, pre-COVID times of March 2019 when this $450m program was announced. (Some of the projects are re-announced from the prior $300m Pinch Points Program 🤷‍♀️)

Here's a somewhat detailed list of them:

The problem is, nothing on the RMS' website, except one precious page, indicates this program is proceeding. It's the Cumberland Highway/The Horsley Drive intersection upgrade page.

Personally, the most exciting project that was originally announced would've been the Victoria Road widening at West Ryde Station, taking Victoria Road to 6 lanes from the current 5.

The Pennant Hills/North Rocks Road project has been resurrected with even more improvements.

That is good also that they are not doing a painted median and sticking with concrete to improve road safety.

I'm eagerly awaiting the West Ryde one, which will hopefully bring 3 lanes each way along Victoria Road.

The program finally has a web page stub on the Pinch Point Programs page, but the actual page doesn't really exist yet.


One of the newest projects is the Princes Highway/Bates Drive Kareela intersection upgrade:
