  • Position title: Marketing & Fundraising Manager, Melbourne Queer Film Festival
  • Reports to: The Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
  • Direct reports: Volunteers, interns
  • Working hours: 9am-5pm, Monday – Friday. Full-time hybrid role.

Melbourne Queer Film Festival is Australia’s oldest and largest, not-for-profit, queer film festival attracting tens of thousands of festival-goers annually. The Festival is recognised internationally as one of the most important platforms for Queer cinema in the world and plays a vital role in providing a forum for celebration, advocacy and visibility for queer communities.

Held in November, the annual Film Festival features over 140 feature films, shorts, and documentaries – MQFF curates an intersectional showcase of queer narratives along with a range of public programs, discussions, and events for the queer community and our allies to enjoy.

Our mission is to engage the community with the best LGBTQIA+ content in order to educate, entertain and celebrate diversity.

We seek to change lives through the experience of shared stories – bringing the best of world queer culture to Victoria and nurturing the development of new Australian voices.

about the role

As the Marketing & Fundraising Manager, you’ll be working in a close-knit, dynamic team, developing and delivering all marketing & communication functions for MQFF. A big focus of this role is to drive our fundraising capacity & amplify the visibility of MQFF in Melbourne and beyond, so we can continue to boldly celebrate and support the LGBTQIA+ community and showcase the next generation of queer filmmakers.

Day to day, you’ll be generating income through corporate sponsorship procurement and philanthropic appeals, propelling ticket sales and engagement, building and maintaining the public profile and brand of MQFF; and representing the organisation to a diverse array of stakeholders.
