QUEER YOUTH CONNECT:
A WHOLE YEAR OF MINUS18 EVENTS!
|
|
|
We're kicking off 2023 with something very special, and very exciting to reveal. Put simply? We've created an entire year of digital and in-person events for LGBTQIA+ young people, and we're revealing the first six months today.
Introducing: Queer Youth Connect!
Queer Youth Connect is a year-long program of affirming events for queer young people aged 12 to 19.
That's one event every two weeks, for young people to connect, make friends, find community, and find support. And yes, today we're revealing the first 16, with tickets available to the first five events.

We're revealing six months' worth at once for two important reasons.
First? So the young people in our community can plan ahead and get excited, and so we can build familiarity and a sense of community, all over the country.
Secondly? For you, our community of adults, teachers, youth orgs,

|
|
|
supporters carers and parents!
Queer Youth Connect exists for you to share with your young people, and so you're always aware of the next opportunity they have to find support and connection, and make new friends. 🌈

A little about tickets! Tickets – which are always, always free – will launch a month before each event date.
Today, we're kicking things off with tickets to three Melbourne events, one Sydney event (!!), and one digital event, open to all young people – no matter their location. In other words, there's something for everyone!

We kick things off TOMORROW with Queer Crafternoon at the Victorian Pride Centre.
Hosted by the Minus18 Young Leaders, it's an afternoon of craft, activities, and new pals. Attendees could even create a banner for Midsumma Pride March!

Time to celebrate our pride and explore the museum after dark: it's Night at the Museum!
Join us on Sat 28 January at the Immigration Museum for DJs, music, and new friends. This is our first youth (ages 12 to 19 only) pride party of the year, and we can't wait!

This one's not just for young people!
We're inviting our community of LGBTQIA+ youth to march with us at Midsumma Pride March, and we'd love to have the adults, allies, and family members that support them join us, too. Please register, so we know how many folks to expect!

Sydney Queer Formal is back! We're finally returning, for the first time since 2020 – right in time for Mardi Gras and Sydney WorldPride.
It's the sparkliest, most pride-filled, most affirming night of the year for queer youth, and we can't wait. This event will sell out – so move quickly!

It's our first digital LGBTQIA+ youth event of the year: Pride Galaxy!
Join us on online for a live-streamed, interactive, out of this world celebration of youth pride! Expect queer performers, competitions, new friends, and the most wholesomely hectic chat around.
