Labor MP’s refuse to define or protect women in law

Kirralie Smith May 22, 2026

Labor MPs have been making it clear they do not support sex-based rights and, in fact, favour the promotion and protection of males who wish they were women in law.

In light of Roxy Tickle winning a discrimination case against Sall Grover, who developed a female-only app, Labor MPs have been issuing statements in support of males who wish they were women over and above actual women.

They fail to acknowledge that if you can’t define “woman” in law, you can’t protect or promote women in law or anywhere else. Women have been erased from law and Labor seem to be quite proud of the fact.

Monique Ryan MP published this on her social media pages:

And Anika Wells, along with several other Labor MPs, has been sending these emails to supporters, asking them to stand up for women to be defined in law.

Thank you for your correspondence to Minister Wells regarding the recent Federal Court decision and for raising your personal concerns.

The Albanese Government is aware of the ruling and recognises that this issue raises strongly held views within the community.

It is an essential feature of Australia’s system of government that the courts are independent and free from interference by the executive. Consistent with this independence, it is not appropriate for members of Parliament to comment on, or seek to influence, the handling of individual cases.

The Government believes that all people are entitled to respect, dignity, and the opportunity to participate fully in society, free from discrimination. These principles are reflected in the Sex Discrimination Act 1984, which prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex, sexual orientation, gender identity and intersex status.

The Act has had bipartisan support under successive governments – both Liberal and Labor – including the previous government that Angus Taylor was a Minister in.

We have placed women’s equality at the centre of our agenda, supported by equal representation of women in Government and around the Cabinet table.

We have committed to improving women’s safety, with the recent Budget increasing investment in the National Plan to End Violence Against Women and Children to over $4.4 billion.

Thank you again for taking the time to share your views.

This means Labor objects to disabled women asking for female carers when it comes to intimate nursing care.

It objects to females who want single sex sports.

It sees no need to protect female prisoners from violent male inmates who claim to be women.

It has no issue with males invading women’s rape crisis shelters.

It shows no regard for our daughters who are forced to share bathrooms with males who insist we must all go along with their sexual fetish in public.
Labor’s position is a disgrace and must be challenged. It cannot champion women if it can’t even define or protect women in law!
