Board Directors (Voluntary) - Remote / Work from Home

LGBTQ Domestic Violence Awareness Foundation

Job description

THE OPPORTUNITY

The LGBTQ Domestic Violence Awareness Foundation is seeking dynamic and purpose-driven Board Directors to help guide one of Australia’s most impactful and fast-growing LGBTQ+ organisations.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a movement that is reshaping national and global responses to domestic, family and intimate partner violence in LGBTQ+ communities. We envision a world where all LGBTQ+ people can live free from violence; where every person is seen, heard, believed and supported with dignity and respect.

With increasing global recognition, expanding partnerships and new initiatives on the horizon, the Foundation is entering a pivotal phase of growth, innovation and influence. We are seeking leaders who want to help shape this next chapter.

OUR IMPACT SO FAR

Since launching in 2019, the Foundation has grown from a grassroots idea into an international movement for change. Our work has:

  • Developed and launched two free national eLearning programs, including the groundbreaking See, Hear, Believe - Australia’s first LGBTQ+ DFV training for frontline workers
  • Distributed thousands of free educational resources to services, communities and workplaces
  • Reached millions through powerful awareness campaigns
  • Raised over $1.1m to support education, advocacy and systems reform
  • Inspired thousands worldwide to take action
  • Built strong partnerships across LGBTQ+ organisations, DFV services, corporate supporters and community networks

A GLOBAL MOVEMENT FOR CHANGE

Our flagship initiative, LGBTQ Domestic Violence Awareness Day, being 28 May, is now recognised in over 20 countries around the world - and continues to grow each year.

With support from advocates, workplaces and communities across cultures and languages, the day amplifies visibility, education and solidarity for LGBTQ+ victim-survivors of domestic, family and intimate partner violence.

This global momentum has positioned the Foundation as a leading international voice driving meaningful change.

WHY JOIN US?
