Dear Colleagues and Community

We are hosting a Community Wellbeing Expo on 31 July 2024!

Melbourne based service providers are invited to come and display information about services they offer to support mental health and other social needs. Each service will be provided a table in an open marketplace environment, which will be attended by community members, practitioners and professionals. This is a great opportunity to share information and learn about services and agencies. The event will build networks and links within the sector and strengthen the response provided to individuals, families, and communities by helping colleagues to build their knowledge and relationships.

Delicious and FREE afternoon tea and lucky door prizes will be provided.

Here are the details:

  • Date & time: Wednesday 31 July 2024: 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm
  • Address: Level 3, 222 Bourke St, Melbourne 3000

Please feel free to share this email to colleagues, networks, and families.

Background to our Clinic and its services:

The ACAP Counselling, Psychology and Social Work Clinics are staffed by final year Psychology/Clinical Psychology, Counselling/Psychotherapy and Social Work students on placement and offer a wide range of FREE individual and group therapy options. We have a new Clinic offering face to face services in Melbourne CBD at Bourke St Melbourne. We also offer outreach through partnership with agencies in local areas. Those who are more isolated or outside metro Melbourne are offered telehealth. Students are closely monitored and supervised by experienced senior clinicians and academics. We value cultural responsiveness across many areas and offer bi-cultural counselling to many language groups as well as LGBTQA+ Communities. Our services consist of counselling, short term case work, workshops, and evidence based educational programs. As part of our ongoing efforts to expand our services and collaborate with the community, I wanted to bring to your attention the numerous opportunities and services that our clinic can offer.

There is no wait list for services in Melbourne and we work with children, young people and adults (including older adults).

Referrals are made via email cli...@acap.edu.au or via our website. Services are delivered free - at no cost and are not time-limited. The service is available to all people regardless of visa status. Refugees and International Students are very welcome. Referrals are accepted Australia wide and can be made through self-referral or via a warm referral from your service.

In addition to individual therapy, there are a number of group work programs running in 2024. Groups have limited space and early referral is suggested. Group programs offered face to face in Melbourne include:
