A big thankyou for participating in this 'experiment'.
My name is Cory Banks and amoungst many things I am the KM Specialist
for the Corp Projects Div of Suncorp and the Chair of the QLD KM
Forum.
I think most of us know of each other or have met on occasion but a
quick "once around the table" would be good.
I have invited you to participate in this group to share our
experiences in running KM communities in Australia.
Please feel free to invite any other members of your group
facilitators/convenors/etc.. to join the group.
The things I am looking for is to provide a central place to keep
track of what everyone is up to, find out which Guru is visiting when
and to share experiences of running KM Commuity activities (what
worked, what didn't etc..). An initial start may be to add this
group's email adress to any event notifications you send out.
This environment provides an opportunity to have discussions recorded
in a central place and then perhaps looking to build a body of
knowledge around this topic. (Unfortunately Google Groups doesn't have
wiki functionality althought the Pages could be a suitable
substitute).
Have a look around the Google Groups functionality to understand what
our possibilities and constraints are.
Well I think that is enough of a start.
Let me know what you think?
Thanks
Cory
Thanks for setting this up.
Everyone -
I guess that I have already met a few of you. I am one of the five
people that form the committee of the Melbourne Knowledge Management
Leadership Forum.
You can follow our activities on the web site at:
http://www.melbournekmlf.org/.
As you will see from that, it has been a little while since we last met;
we had been meeting roughly once a month. Meetings usually feature a
guest speaker, and some networking time over a glass or two of wine
(gold coin donation). We are making plans for more meetings, including
hosting Patrick Lambe in October.
As per James's comments on the NSW forum, we are also fairly informal,
and totally voluntary. We also use a Yahoo! Group for our mailing list,
but this is pretty much only used to invite members to the face-to-face
forum meetings in Melbourne. (Details for joining the list are on the
web page.) We also support and recommend actKM as an online forum.
You can read more about all of our committee on the site, including what
we each do for a day job. Most of us are also blogging - links are on
the site Blogroll.
You can read more about me on my blog at: http://delarue.net/blog/bio/,
and my LinkedIn profile is here: http://www.linkedin.com/in/kdelarue.
Look forward to keeping in touch with you all!
Regards,
- Keith.
