2 I agree that the facilitators of these forums stay in touch; to share
information and to offer travelling speakers etc. The issue of 'cost'
is a tricky one and when KM and related people pass through, it is
beneficial for them to receive the greatest spread of potential
audiences. Some of these people are sponsored - and don't mind holding
a few meetings with little or no payment. Others may not be interested
in this sort of arrangement. I suggest that a way to promote this is
follow the sponsorship path. KM followers now include many of the
larger legal and other professional firms and have branches in most
states. I'm sure that they would be happy to sponsor visiting guest
speakers/presenters if asked. In fact many in the 'KM community' or
members of such firms. I'm not sure whether this sort of possibility
has been seriously followed up.
3 I agree with Arthur that facilitators in each State should at least we
aware of 'who's around'; and to of course watch what others are doing.
His suggestion about posting of events is very important, and the idea
of listing on the Google Calendar makes sense.
4 I strongly suggest that we should make a conscious effort to get
together and discuss/meet at events such as KM Australia and others -
and the ideas that may emanate as a result, for us and the groups and
people that we work with.
