2012 Australian Junior Chess Championships

Over 185 juniors have registered so far and two of these are international visitors! Here is an interesting statistic: there are more players registered from just two Victorian schools than have registered from the whole of NSW:

Australian Young Masters

Please contact Fedja Zulfic (see below) if you would like to play in:

Dates: December 7-11
Format:10 player, 9 rounds round-robin tournaments
Venue: Adelaide Chess Centre, 10 Ranleagh Street. Adelaide (In central Adelaide, 10 minutes walk from Chinatown)
Round times: 9.30 and 14.30 daily
Time limit: 40/90 plus 30 second increment from move 1
Prizes: $250, $150, $100 in each group (Minimum - prizes may be adjusted upwards or extended beyond 3rd)

Australian Schools Teams Championships

The 2011 Australian Schools Teams Championships will be conducted by the NSW Junior Chess League at Knox Grammar School, Wahroonga, about 20 km north of Sydney, on Saturday and Sunday 3-4 December. Details are now available on the NSW Junior Chess League's website, www.nswjcl.org.au (see link at top right of home page). Included (under "Entry Details") is the entry form which participating schools should download, complete and then return to the NSW Junior Chess League as soon as possible. Details of the competing teams will be added to the website as they become available.
