From the five statements of the accused, the jury heard what really happened
on that awful night on Sunday, 2 February I986. Travers and his gang had

clothes off, but she refused. She repeatedly told her assailants: "Leave me
alone. I'm married." Travers and Murdoch started ripping her clothes off and
punching her in the face and about the back of the head. Les Murphy leaned
over from the front seat and punched Anita in the face while Michael Murphy
slapped her. Anita put up a violent struggle but she had no chance against
the gang.
They held their nude hostage on the floor of the back of the car while they
pulled in a garage to get gasoline with money stolen from Anita's purse. On
the way from the garage to Reen Road, Travers and Mick Murphy raped Anita at
knifepoint in the back seat while the others examined the contents of her
bag.
Halfway down Reen Road, they stopped the car and threw their naked victim
into a ditch where John Travers, Gary Murphy and Les Murphy took turns
raping her. Gary Murphy forced Anita to perform oral sex on him.
The five men then picked the semi-conscious Anita up and dragged her through
the barbed wire fence, causing long, deep cuts to her flesh. The sobbing
young woman could offer little resistance. She had been so badly battered
and kicked that she could hardly walk. The gang carried and dragged her to
the middle of the Boiler Paddock and threw her to the ground
As Anita begged and pleaded to be let go, Mick Murdoch raped her again while
Michael Murphy forced her to have oral sex with him. After they had
finished, Les Murphy sodomized Anita. While Travers raped her again, Gary
Murphy and Mick Murdoch tried to force Anita to have oral sex with them both
at the same time. But they couldn't get erections.
Then Michael Murphy went berserk and raped, bashed and kicked Anita until
she just lay on the ground, hardly conscious and breathing in gasps. Les
Murphy gave Anita one final kick in the head before they decided that they
had had enough.
They left their victim in the paddock and headed back to the car. But
Travers wasn't happy. He claimed that Anita would be able to recognize all
of them and she had heard them call each other by name. She had to die. "I'm
going to go back and kill her," Travers said. "She'll never live to give us
up. I'll slit her throat."
Rather than try and stop him, the gang urged Travers on. "Yeah, she'll see
us all in the shit. Go on, go back and do it." Not needing much
encouragement, Travers returned to Anita, sat on her back, lifted her head
back by the hair and cut her throat. It was not unlike what he had done to
the sheep in his backyard.
In his statement, Travers recalled that he thought he had cut Anita's throat
twice. Forensic evidence indicated that he had. Travers left Anita Cobby
lying semi-conscious in the paddock, bleeding to death with her head almost
severed from her body.
When Travers returned to the car, he was covered in Anita Cobby's blood and
boasted about what he had done. In his statement, Mick Murdoch said he asked
Travers what it was like to kill someone. He replied: "It didn't feel like
nothing. I didn't feel anything at all. They decided to return to Travers'
mother's house and clean up. During the short trip, Travers went into great
detail about the killing. They all laughed and told him how clever he was.
Not one of the murderers had a twinge of conscience about what they had
done. Rather, they joked about the night's events until they reached the
house.

Each person who is a victim of violent crime believes it to be the
worst because it is perpetrated on them or one of their loved ones.
Just as I was horrified and sickened by that incident, so I am

they had to be kept segregated from the rest of the prisoners for fear of
reprisals against them. I don't know if they still are kept separate, but
regardless of their colour, there was a lot of ill feeling towards them.

Unless it happens to be someone close to you that is put through what
Anita Cobby was. Personally I have a problem with the death penalty as
far as giving that sort of power over citizens (we all know
governments will fuck things up), however in situations such as the
Cobby case where there is no shred of doubt that these individuals
where responsible the death penalty should apply. As is I would wait
for as long as it took for those pieces of garbage to be released and
would execute them myself, as for those nice Lebanese boys, I wouldn't
kill them but would neuter them to ensure they never have ideas about
doing that sort of thing again.

A friend of mines mother was at the trial. Although he repeated the
story to me I've spent sometime on a yacht with the lady. I'll double

I checked my sources.

To begin with none of them have admitted it.. and regardless of the
weight of evidence against them.. and as bizarre as it might appear
there is always a slim chance that one or more actually *are*
innocent!
And it always concerns me that if the death penalty was reintroduced
then one day through a series of unfortunate circumstances it might be
me or mine - guilty or innocent - standing on the trap door! And if I
*was* innocent I'd be pretty pissed to know I was dying for sfa!!
Secondly... there is the obvious fact that keeping them alive
incarcerated could be a more effective 'revenge' than a quick jerk at
the end of a rope... or a pinprick from a needle....!
Thirdly I'm always loath to do something I can't reverse. We can kill
easily enough but we can't create.

The world doesn't work that way. Given a group of people factions and
collusions will form and they will co-operate with within each other
and compete with each other and exclude each other. With race and

all cultures respecting each other won't work.
The cultures of the middle east are highly evolved NOT to assimilate.
They have strong food taboos, strong marriage taboos that prevent
intermarriage, strong customs that prevent conversion; even to the
point of death. Muslims, Copts and Jews.
The reason western civilization is the way it is is because our
civilization through accident of climate and geography was was isolted
not by customs and toboos but by geography and based on the nuclear
family not the extended family and we are individualistic and free
form the constraint of extended family.
That is why we are welcoming and succesfull and why we altriusticaly
punish unfair people that aren't multiculuralists. But in this lies
the seeds of our own destruction. Immigration and low fertity will
wipe out western peoples in less than 50 at most 100. Certainly in
say 10-20 years it will be impossible to stop immmigration because of
the ethnic factions that will be promoting it will have so much
influence.
What will be left is ethnic factions.
