I am woking on a compilation and possible a website FAQ etc... to try
and list all the songs (Australian Artists and Otherwise) who's songs
have appeare in coke commercials.

Its just a little hobby of mine but something I'd love to get together
and make really comprehensive.

So far the list is very small but I'm hoping with the help of the group
I could get more. At this point I know of:
Gangajang: Sounds of then.
Paul Kelly: Dumb things
Aretha Franklin: Freeway of Love (from a US Commrcial but shown here in
Australia)
Kylie Minogue did one I THINK the song was "Better the devil you know".

This could be a reallyfun thing for the group to participate in and show
off your Rock Trivia Knowledge.

and of course All your help is appreciated.

Cheers

Shane

Everybody's Free to Feel Good - Rosalla (remember where they did all the
rollerblading!)

There was one with the E-Street cast as well, with Bruce Samazan rapping (oh
yeah - let's kick it up a notch!) I can't remember the song though!

Robert Plant's Hurting Kind as wel, I think

Ummm.. I'll let someone else take over now!

Actually, Robert Plant's song may have been 'Long, Cool One' - it featured
Elle McP in the ad anyway (and no, it wasn't the TAB ad!)

Remember the old 'You've got the Right One Baby, Uh-huh!' ads from the early
90s? I think that was Pepsi though, not Coke...

Don't forget "This is it". I have no idea who sang the original. All I
remember is that Dannii Minogue (the girl that showed us that maybe
Kylie wasn't so bad) did a cover not long after the ads stopped. For
weeks I saw that video clip and thought it was the longest, most tedious
ad Coke had ever produced. You may have to search the 'bubblegum'
archives for the original artist.

"I'd like to buy the world a coke" was "I'd like to teach the world to sing"
The Seekers
