The people of Darwin stood up once before when Seven dropped their news and
had it restored.
Southern Cross are a much tougher mob than telecasters but it's worth a try.
The result of a restoration of Seven Darwin / Seven Central news will also
be the return of TEN Townsville and TEN Cairns news.
Townsville businesses voted by withdrawing advertising dollars today hitting
SCB where it hurts.
As the bottom line seems to be the only thing Australian Companies
understand then that is where the battle will be won.
The unfortunate side effect is that SCB will gleefully slash more ex
telecasters staff due to falling revenue.
The ABA needs to have a hard look at the licence conditions for regional
broadcasters - especially the satellite licences.
Maybe Mt Isa needs to consider the servicability of their ex TV station?!?
Bring on Community TV to rescue the regionals!!!!
