Should be fascinating viewing and probably worrying viewing.

The snippet that Vandstone employed the son of a mafia don in our Rome
Embassy ( where Mafia relate intelligence is passed from the Italians) has
wetted my interest

Drat, I must have missed seeing that promo. When is it scheduled to be
shown please dechucka?

Mind you, I think highly of Vanstone given that she wouldn't kowtow to
little Johnny H.

I must ring a friend who had a posting in Rome and ask her if she has
heard any such whispers on this topic.

A two-party system gives the voter only one more choice than North Korea.

In a democracy of course you always get a choice
Do you want to be governed by the red or by the blue?
it's entirely up to you!
Do you want to be patronized or condescended to, by liars or by crooks? You get to choose.
Would you prefer your fundamental values to be insulted or ignored by con-men or by charlatans?
In short do you want your influence to be zero or nil
and when would you like to be listened to, never or not at all, it's your choice
Do you want, some more choices.
take-it-or-leave-it
Now there's a real choice I'd be happy with any kind of representation wouldn't you
I would like to see a new government and part of me doesn't give a
damn who's in it as long as it doesn't include anybody from the Labor, Liberal or
Green party organizations that show themselves to be without shame or principle

All spineless and authoritarian both cowardly and war mongering at the same time
we have proportional voting in Australia USE IT

Put Labor, Liberal and Green party last on your Ballot choose your
independant or small parties first then donkey vote down to those last
on your ballot. Stops the majors getting OVER $2.50 a 1st preferance vote

The lord mayor of Perth, Lisa Scaffidi, is the daughter-in-law of a
mafia don. The Scaffidi family being one the longest-established mafia
families in Australia, who made their fortune from brothels and
importing heroin. That doesn't seem to bother anyone in WA, including
the police commissioner, whose son is a high-ranking member of a
competing organized crime gang.

As long as organized crime gangs' urge to collude against the public
outweighs their urge to compete with one another, they operate with
impunity. It's only when their competitiveness becomes murderously
violent, as it did for a few years in Victoria, that the government &
police pretend to crack down on them just long enough for the public to
lose interest.

And the irony... The Liberal party wants to deport Zaky Mallah... just

A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious.
But it cannot survive treason from within.
An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly.
But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely,
his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard
in the very halls of government itself.
For the traitor appears not a traitor;
he speaks in accents familiar to his victims,
and he wears their face
and their arguments,he appeals to the baseness
that lies deep in the hearts of all men.
He rots the soul of a nation,
he works secretly and unknown in the night
to undermine the pillars of the city,
he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist.
A murderer is less to fear.
The traitor is the plague.--Marcus Tullius Cicero

Did you see Q&Alast night?

Wilson and Kelly's responses tohaving Mallah on were were appalling as
was Tanya's. They all proved to me that having that little shit on and
seeing the stupid response he got from Ciobo was a really good idea.

Bloody Wilson is a Human Rights Commissioner and supposedly a supporter
of free speech but the appallign man didn't say a thing about Ciobo and
his Human Rights infringeing responee to Mallah. Mallah may be a twit,
but he is not a Parl. Sec. and so I have more tolerance for him saying
stupid things than that twit Ciobo.

Loved Media Watch's response to all the government and media hypocrisy

BS
The Lying Rodent gnome has nothing to offer for the real political Left!
Not now and not ever.

What has been clearly shown in this instance was how fast the LNP ended up
accelerating towards rightwing extremism. Just as Fraser has ended up to
the left of his own political side over a few decades down the line so
was now Howard doing the same but in a much shorter time period. I'd hate
to think about the horrible future when the same thing will happen to TA.

I'd say it would be high time to seriously reconsider and change
currently so hostile prevailing public opinion directed against real
Leftist ideology and act on it too. The sooner it is the better it is for
the country!

:-)) Yes. It was good for a belly laugh. "Head to roll" is such a
profoundly stupid choice of words given the situation with IS.

But beyond that I especially enjoyed that comment from Wilson about how
he thought that Tony Jones was being snide after Wilson stupidly claimed
that he (Wilson) believed in free speech. Wilson had banged on all
night about NOT supporting free speech when it involved the likes of
Mallah being on Q&A and exercising his (Mallah's) right to free speech.
I'd bet pounds ot peanuts that he'd have ahd a different response if
it had been Andrew Bolt who'd appeared on Q&A and said an equally stupid
and irritating but also equally as extreme thing as Mallah had done.

'Goose and gander' keeps coming to mind every time I hear comments on
this issue.
