It's not "Eurasia", is it?  I have crap fonts installed on this student computer at Spherion so I can't confirm it.

I have experience with the Inscriber machine at Channel 31, that allegedly
is the same as Channel 10's standard graphics computer. One of the styles
that is available on the default installation looks a lot like the Big
Brother font. I would hardly be surprised to learn that it was the same.
And I'm sure I could make a good mimicry of the Big Brother font using
Inscriber if I tried.

It's important to recognize that when you're talking about graphics produced
on a high-end machine, there's more to it than just the name of a font.
That's why they group these parameters under 'styles' on the Matrox machine.

Keep in mind that Ten did not come up with the logo.

I would expect that whoever did come up with the logo was using standard
equipment at a production house connected to Ten. Even if they weren't,
there aren't that many choices available if you want to produce
broadcast-quality graphics, quickly and at a reasonable price.

I'm pretty sure it is the same as 'bank gothic'. I have on the computer at
work, but I don't know where it came from.

I would expect that the logo was generated by a PR or Marketing firm
employed from Norway.

I think you meant the Netherlands. :)

That's where Endemol - and the original Big Brother - comes from.

The logo is quite different (and in fact, I have to admit, I keep forgetting
that the Australian logo is what it is as it came much later)

http://www.endemol.com/
http://www.big-brother.nl/

You will actually see the original logo down the bottom of the Australian
site - http://www.bigbrother.com.au/

The Australian logo would have been created either by Endemol alone, or by
the Southern Star Endemol partnership - certainly not Ten. Just think of
the issues if it had changed networks. Endemol would never allow such a
situation to arise.

The logo would almost certainly have been completed before it was even
pitched to Ten.
