Did anyone see TT this evening about a family who supposedly rang up
$28,000 worth of Sex Phone calls? some of the calls that were listed
were $143 for a 30min session.
I can't Imagine a phone company like Optus would make a error that
big(that's not to say that it doesn't or can't happen)- I think one of
the son's(possibly even the father ;) ) made the calls?
Expensive way of getting your jollies I tinks :)

No the whole point of a story like that is to get sympathy
and hopefully (donations) from the public to ease the
plight of the "victim" or to shame the company into letting
them off the hook......

We didn't get that story here in SA but were instead treated
to a story about a guy that has collected junk in his front
yard, his back yard, and even conned neighbours into using
their sheds......

That was a hilarious story... $10 says it's the younger son...
BRING OUT THE POLYGRAPH TEST!
See how much he was sweating when they asked if it was him...
"No...i have... never made any... calls to a... um... sex phone line..."

Sad but true. A friend of mine has three teenage (13-18) sons who during
one weekend of being left to "mind the house" managed to rack up about
$6000's worth of calls to strange numbers in Belize and various other
places. They denied all knowledge initially but fessed up and are still
paying it off. They lost some other rights and privileges too.

Have a workmate who had similar problems - apparently you can can get an
option of PIN code access to STD calls.

But as usual TT with jump in balls first, without checking and
verifying ANY facts.

Don't report the facts it will only confuse the issue.

But then where do you draw the line?
Put a PIN on your internet account for your kids?
Put a PIN on the car?
etc.

Not a bad idea. Seriously. PINs in cars to counter theft is a good idea!

Unfortunately, somebody put a PIN in the internet bubble a couple of
years ago, and it burst.
