Sylvania Waters - The Cast Now

I am a Brit and the series Sylvania Waters is currently being repeated
on TV here as I type, just seen the first episode. I kinda remember it
from when it was on originally, but I was around 12 then, so wasn't
really overly interested. I did a bit of back searching on usenet and
noticed at the time practically every Aussie hated it, so I apologise
if this thread will cause bad memories to come back :)

Basically speaking I just wondered what happened to the cast ? Does
anyone know what happened after the show aired in Australia ? Was it a
15 mins of fame thing or did good/bad things happen to the family ? As
it was 13 years ago now (shudder) I am guessing quite a lot has
probably happened.

Sylvania waters was on of a kind when it aired here all those years ago....
I used to live just down the road from Noelene and the family, and after her
15 minutes of fame I used to laugh as all the shop keepers in the little
shopping
area at the waters would carry her plastic bags to the car for her, they
never offered to carry mine..

After the show Noelene went on to record a song, I don't think it sold very
well.
Her husband went on to be charged by the police for something dodgy, can't
remember sorry.

Paul her son divorced and is now working as a garbo.
Noelene & hubby have moved to a posh place on the Gold Coast, Soverign
Isliand me thinks, where they are sort of old celebrities.

Enjoy the show it is a hoot.

Well, they pretty much started the whole 'reality tv' thing, so hopefully

We loved that show. It was so cringe worthy that it was good.

Mick and Yvette Donaher still own Ultra Tune automotive repairs at
Hurstville. You can often see Yvette driving around the area in her black
monster 4 wheel drive. It really stands out.

It was insurance fraud that Laurie got busted for. A BMW mysteriously burnt
to the ground and one of his sons was in on it. I think it may have been
another son that wasn't in the show. Laurie seemed to have a history of
insured items catching fire ;) There were other dodgy claims.

Laurie and Mick were into car racing. I'm pretty sure he had one in the
annual
Bathurst car races that blew up. LOL - again a history of things catching
fire!

I used to see Paul and his then wife and baby down at Miranda Fair shopping
centre but I know they have long broken up. Paul did work for Telstra at
the time and my sister saw him in her street a few times. He lived either
at Penshurst or Peakhurst back then.

The youngest kid, Michael hit the headlines a few years back. He was
amongst a group of Uni students on a trip to Uganda(?) who were kidnapped
and taken hostage for a few days. From memory, they were all released and
made it back home.

The enitre family really copped a lot of flack for a few years, especially
Noelene. The media gave her heaps. She was an easy target. Even when
they sold up and moved to the Gold Coast a few years ago it made the news
for a few nights. Nothing seemed to have changed between them. They still
spoke to each other they same terrible way they used to.

My God, I can't believe I'm remembering these things. I need to get a life
;)

There's no regrets, no tears goodbye....

It was on ACA when they moved to the Gold Coast I think.

Thanks for the update Paula. I never finished watching a single episode
myself, it was far too painful.

I remember an interview with Nolene a year or two after the series where
she was saying the regretted the whole thing and if she could do it all
over again wouldn't do the series. I wonder if that's still her opinion.

The only thing I remember is Noelenes' appearance on
"Sink the Slipper" :)
